Beautiful ambiance and delicious food. We came here for my mother's birthday brunch and had a delicious meal. We came early around 9am on Sunday and didn't have a long wait. I appreciated the valet parking. The building is gorgeous and contributes to a great experience. The food was beautifully and well made and had a rustic feel. Seating is on your own first come first serve. It makes it challenging when you are holding food trying to find somewhere to sit down. The line is long with only having two cashiers and there are so many delicious pastries to choose from and menu items to consider. Being our first time I felt rushed to make food decisions so I didn't hold up the line. Overall I would recommend this restaurant and hope to come back for dinner!

Ambiance -- 10/10 Upon walking in we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff before being escorted through the restaurant up the stairs to our table. The seating was intimate yet open and really made us feel at home. Service/Food -- overall, service was great. Our waiter, Michael was attentive, kind, and friendly. He was able to walk us through the menu and even recommended some items to us. We were informed to get around 2 dishes per person if sharing family style and this was definitely a solid recommendation. However, there were moments when our table was a bit overcrowded which is understandable, just was hard to maneuver at times. For the dishes, the jalapeño cornbread was my personal favorite along with the ARUGULA MEZZE MANICHE though I think the pasta was a bit undercooked. Overall, ambiance was great, service was great, but way too expensive for what is made. Probably wouldn't return for a full meal but bread/cheese and wine.

We arrived at 8:30AM and their was already a line out the door. If you want to go on a weekend brunch go right at opening. The wait is SO WORTH IT! The pastries seem to be endless and trying to pick what to get is almost impossible, especially when they also take your food order at the register as well. I recommend before going if you want to get both pastries and food, decide what food items to get first or while waiting in line. However, I found the pastries to be 10 times better than the food. This is what we got: Ube brioche- which is filled with both an ube cream and vanilla custard. Surprisingly the best thing I got at a french bakery. Cherry Meyer Lemon Pie- perfect balance of sweet, sour, and tart. Honestly one of the best pies I have had. Mixed Berry Bread pudding- HUGE and served warm with whipped cream on top, decadent and full of berries throughout. Chocolate Croissant and Chocolate Chip Cookie- buttery pastry and dough, however the chocolate was bitter and not much chocolate in the croissant Triple Berry Cake- my mom's favorite and perfect balance of whipped cream, soft spongy cake, and fresh berries. Similar to tres leches cake, but better! Creme Brulee Bombolini- Decent, the custard inside was watery and didn't have much flavor Berry Croissant- crispier croissant which made it hold up better with the whipped cream and berries in the middle. They know how to make a good whipped cream and pair it with berries! The food dishes were a let down the only good one we got was the pupusa, just comparing the quality and deliciousness of the pastries it just felt underwhelming. Overall, I plan to be back 100% to try their other pies, cakes, and pastries as they were some of the best I have had in LA and recommend everyone to try. Just do not make the mistake like us if you plan to eat in don't eat all the pastries before the food comes.

Republique needs no introduction. This iconic restaurant on La Brea has earned its reputation as a must-visit for Angelenos and foodies alike. From the breathtaking ambiance to the culinary delights, Republique delivers a truly Parisian dining experience, deserving a perfect 5-star rating. The menu showcases French cuisine at its finest. Republique uses high-quality ingredients to create dishes that are not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The service at Republique is professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. Note: Republique is a popular spot, so booking a table well in advance is highly recommended, especially for evenings and weekends.

The one thing I wish I knew was that the ordering for ALL items happens right when you enter (first timer). If you want to order more, you need to stand back in line, and most likely the pastries will all be out by then. Both items were really well made and full of flavor! The burrito needs to be eaten while hot, that will make it most enjoyable. The toast was also really well balanced, I tried to eat it with a fork and knife... which was unsuccessful :) The service is hard to assess since there is an ordering line and the servers. But overall, they were busy and needed to keep the line moving. We tried to ask a couple of questions but it was just too busy! The ambiance is really unique and overall Nicely structured. No reservations and it is self seating, so it can get busy and hard to find a place to sit. Get there early!

Is the wait long? Yes. Is it worth it? YES. There's a reason this place is hyped. You wait in line and then you order at a counter, fast casual style. Once you make it past the counter to order, they give you a table number and you try and find a table. The place is stunning to explore while you look for a table. This process may not be everyone cup of tea, but it gave me a sense of joy to explore. Once you sit, it took a while for the food, but the place is packed so 20 minutes for food is not that bad. My friends order got flipped around with someone else, so they definitely need to work on keeping orders straightened in line. Don't try and ask for something to be re cooked - she ordered over easy and they gave her scrambled due to the order mixup for the Shak Shuka. It took them foreverrrrr to bring her plate back! The food itself, so so so good. And you can chill there until you start feeling like yourself again after a night out. The juice brought me back to life. The salmon pancake was so good. The pancake was perfectly crispy and the flavors were amazing! The fresh dill added so much i never would have thought. I'd skip the fancy deserts they have, not as great as the food!

Is Republique expensive? Yes. Was this the best French toast I've ever had? Also yes. Custard-y in the middle and bruleed on the outside, it doesn't look like much but wow is it good. I highly recommend getting brunch here for a special occasion. The interior is beautiful and they have a wide variety of pastries and breakfast items to try. There's usually a long line outside but it moves quickly. Parking is valet or street parking and parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant isn't too hard to find.

This place is really good and must try LA gem. Just got back from Paris and this place is on par or better than most bakeries I went to in France. Loved the pastries we got the chocolate almond croissant, Ube brioche bun and the caramel pistachio brioche bun. They were so delicious and flaky my favorite was the pistachio. Paired well with coffee. The entree was the shrimp and grits. This was just ok to me was too watery. I like mine thick. Huge pieces of shrimp however. A lot of seating however about a 30 min wait to get in on a Saturday morning. Communal tables and industrial styling. Multiple kitchens and seating areas. Loved it I would be back for just pastries and coffee, entrees were not that good and overpriced.

The vibes, baked goods/any breakfast item, and fast service make this place an ideal spot for anyone whether they're local Angelenos or visiting in town. Definitely one of my first recommendations if someone wants to brunch!
